American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Course
The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Course prepares individuals to teach American Heart Association BLS Provider courses and Heartsaver courses.
Upon successful completion of the course, instructor candidates will be eligible to teach:
- BLS Provider courses
- Heartsaver First Aid
- Heartsaver CPR AED
- Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
- AED training
- Bloodborne Pathogens training
This instructor certification is valid for two (2) years through the American Heart Association.
Course Prerequisites
All instructor candidates must complete the following requirements prior to attending the in-person instructor course:
- Hold a current (non-expired) American Heart Association BLS Provider certification card.
- Obtain the required course materials:
- BLS Instructor Essentials Workbook
- Complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course prior to the in-person training session.
Failure to complete all prerequisites before class may result in not being able to take the course and no refund/no reschedule.
Certification:
Students who successfully complete all course requirements (prerequisites and classroom portion) will receive an American Heart Association BLS Instructor and HeartSaver Instructor certifications valid for two years.
CPR4LIFE USA Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to ALL courses offered by CPR4LIFE USA. By registering for a course, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies.
Cancellation Policy
All course registrations are non-refundable.
If you choose to cancel your registration for any reason, no portion of the course fee will be refunded. A cancellation confirmation email may be sent through our registration system.
No-Show Policy
Students who do not attend their scheduled course, are absent at the start of class, or fail to meet course requirements at the time of class will be considered a no-show. No refunds or reschedules will be provided for no-shows.
Reschedule Policy
Students may request one (1) reschedule per registration if the request is submitted at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled class date.
- A $20 reschedule fee applies.
- The fee must be paid prior to approval of the reschedule request.
- Reschedules are subject to seat availability.
- Registrations are only transferable to another CPR4LIFE USA course of the same type and may not be transferred to another training provider.

Online/Blended Learning Requirements
If the course requires online or blended learning: In accordance with American Heart Association and American Red Cross training standards, all required online or blended learning modules must be completed prior to attending the in-person skills session.
Students who arrive without proof of completed online coursework will not be permitted to participate in class and will be considered a no-show. No refunds or reschedules will be provided.
Registering for the Correct Course
It is the student’s responsibility to verify course requirements prior to registration.

- Employer
- Human Resources department
- School, college, or program director
- Licensing or certification organization
Emergency Situations
Emergency-related exceptions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are solely at the discretion of CPR4LIFE USA ownership. Approval of refunds, transfers, or reschedules is not guaranteed.
Late Arrival Policy
As a common courtesy to all students and instructor(s), Classes begin and end on time. Students who arrive after the scheduled class start time will not be admitted into the course and will be considered a no-show. No refunds or reschedules will be provided.
Course Materials and Certification Requirements
Certain courses may require completion of prerequisite certifications, online coursework, or required training materials prior to class attendance.
Students who fail to meet prerequisite or course requirements may be denied entry into the course without refund or reschedule.
Conduct and Participation
CPR4LIFE USA reserves the right to remove any participant from class for disruptive, unsafe, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior. No refund or reschedule will be provided in these situations.
